Here we go again. New country, new baby, new job (James), new identity (me). Not in the witness protection program kind of way, just in the no longer a career woman becoming a stay at home mom kind of way. This blog got it's title from the question we got every time we told people we were moving to Tbilisi, Georgia: "Is that near Atlanta or Augusta?" Yes. Just east of Atlanta friend. And, well, north of Turkey.

Please to Answer

Considering the fact that James and I have only been in Georgia for 4 months, it is somewhat shocking that we are already thinking about where we will move next.

This summer the bid process begins for us again, so we are starting to look at which posts are available and match up to James in terms of timing, type of job, and level.

There are several places that we are starting to lean towards, but before I mention those and get reactions, I'm curious...

Let's assume that we could get a job at any post in the world right now - that everything would line up AND they would offer it to James - please answer two questions:

1. where do you think WE should go?

2. where would YOU go?

  1. If I had been on the ride you've taken for the past three years, I'd want to go someplace comfy with a bunch of ex-pats who have little kids. The adventure is fun/exciting/inspiring, but I'd want some semblance of home and to sit a spell. But that's just me.

  2. Australia sounds fun, but that is a hard post to get. I don't know where you should go but I loved latin america. I would go again in a heartbeat. And plus, you already speak spanish.

  4. You should go to Portugal, Brazil, or a Portuguese speaking African nation.

But personally, I would go to New Zealand.

  6. um, Bend, Oregon? Or New Zealand. maybe if you go there, you and Cora could be in the next Lord of the Rings movie while James is working.

    1. Those two options are so close. I think James would jump at Bend, Oregon...he loves it in OR. And as for Cora and I...well, you hit the nail right on the head for the dream we share.

  7. I would go to Japan. I think you should go to Vienna.

  8. I would go to Bolivia to see and get to know my family there. I also have cousins in Germany, which would be a great place to base, and then travel extensively throughout Europe as possible

  9. I would like to see you in Canada, UK, France, Germany, or Brazil. I would visit you anywhere! Europe; North, Central or South America; Australia or New Zealand--all are high on my tourist wish list.
